You have probably seen his images before. Sidewalk drawings that seem to come alive. I wanted to post some of his drawings and talk about the artist since I love the way he uses his work to interact with people. His name is Julian Beever (his site is here). His skills are impressive, partly because of the way he uses a process called anamorphosis. This process makes his drawings look real enough to touch from one angle but look distorted and stretched from any other perspective. I wonder how he can envision these creations, how he knows how much to distort it. Beever maximizes the effect of his work by choosing his subject matter carefully, always allowing for viewer interaction. I think some of his ability to draw viewers in comes from working on the street, where you have to work hard to get people's attention.View pictures at my website http://wordsofdom.blogspot.com/
