Easy Routines to Improve Your Vertical

There are hundreds or even thousands of ways in order for you to increase your vertical leap. The vertical lift is utilized in many types of sports like football, volleyball, basketball and so on and that is one of the main reasons why a lot of athletes want to improve their jumping ability. Some examples of easy, yet highly effective vertical jump exercises that you can follow are sprinting, running stairs, jump rope, double jumps, explosive jumps and elevated jumps. These are great exercises that you can incorporate in your vertical jump program. So, here is a brief explanation of the benefits that you can acquire from the said exercises and how you can get the most out of them. Read on!

1) Jump Rope – This activity is great because it helps in terms of cardiovascular conditioning.

2) Sprints – This exercise targets and develops the muscle groups you need whenever you are jumping.

3) Running Stairs – This is a simple and wonderful way to enhance the muscles of your legs. As a suggestion, run the stairs using only the tip of your toes. Another variation that you can do is to run up the stairs using two steps at a time.

4) Elevated Jumps – You will need a step bench in order to perform this exercise. Stand on top of the step bench and jump off the bench backwards and concentrate on landing lightly. The instance you land on the ground, jump back up as fast as you can. This will develop your fast twitch muscles.

5) Explosive Jumps – To do this, place one foot onto a platform and use that foot to push yourself up as high as you possibly can and land with your other leg on the platform, then repeat the entire process.

6) Double Jumps – This is basically the same as that of explosive jumps, but this time you are required to use both of your feet.
