Yard Work Enjoyment

The way you present your yard and the landscaping options you choose are a direct reflection on your own personality, at least that’s the way some people view it. The organization of the yard and the state in which it is kept speaks of a person who is either organized and tidy or who has trouble keeping things together.

For some people, working in the yard is a therapeutic activity that cleanses the mind while working the body. At the end of the activity you have a backyard or a front yard that you can look on and admire. For these people working in the garden is not a chore. Even if the thought of a large expanse of lawn is not appealing, the options such as Zoysia grass among other slow growing alternatives provide attractive low maintenance choices.

For others the yard is a nightmare world where the work never ends. No sooner has the lawn been mowed than it is growing ragged again. The pruning never ceases as the darn bushes keep sending out new branches and the weeds seem to have a mind of their own.

The idea of removing the grass altogether is a tempting one for those who despise yard work. Although the artificial grass cost is a large outlay up front, the pay-off might come every weekend when there is little to no work required to keep the lawn looking good. This may be a drastic course of action, but then, quite a few backyards have had the majority of the grass removed in favor of a paved courtyard or patio.

Whatever the preference, the choice of how the yard is to be landscaped is up to the individual home owner and what they consider pleasing to their eye, their budget and their work ethic. The backyard is a place where most of us come to relax and enjoy our spare time no matter whether it’s digging in the garden, playing with the kids on the synthetic grass or reading the paper on the patio.
